For those who live or visit the Hill Country, if you’ve ever wondered what that soaring tower on the hill is as you drive into Johnson City, we have the answer! It’s part of Lighthouse Hill Ranch. We recently had a great time visiting this beautiful venue inspired by Saxon towers in Germany, but built with a Texas touch. “The Lighthouse” sits atop one of the highest points in Blanco County and is available for weddings, reunions, corporate parties, and other events.

Every Wednesday, just about a mile from Whim, is the Dripping Springs Farmers Market – Official. Local farmers, produce, fresh air – we love shopping the farmers market and thinking about it today put us in a farmers market-themed wedding reception or party state of mind. Loads of inspiration out there! Our Sofia Farm Table, Fleur de Lis stoneware (in robin’s egg or soft green or white), maybe burlap runners, vintage flatware, centerpieces made from fresh produce…the possibilities are endless!

Wild Woman Weekend Wrap-up!

The reception lounge trend really took off last year. This year, we’re seeing this fun wedding and special event element move from trend to chic tradition as couples and hosts look for a way to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere for their guests. A designated lounge area offers a comfortable place away from the dance floor, and more formal table settings, for guests to casually eat, drink and mingle. Your lounge is the ideal spot for sipping signature cocktails or microbrews and noshing on finger food.

At weddings and special events, we’ve had lounge areas on lawns, courtyards and patios, in front of fireplaces – you name the spot, we can do the lounge. One wedding had ladies lounge on one side of the venue and the men’s lounge on the other (with a cigar rolling station).

Set up your wedding lounge with oversized ottomans in slipcovers to match your theme, Adirondack chairs, cocktail tables, rugs, and lots of pillows. Super-chic and super-comfortable. Guests will love it and so will you!
